ICN Congress 2019: ICN Announces 2019 And 2021 Congresses

At its closing ceremony of the 2017 ICN Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) announced that its 2019 Congress would be held in Singapore, hosted by the Singapore Nurses Association; and the 2021 Congress would be held in Abu Dhabi, hosted by the Emirates Nursing and Midwifery Council and supported by Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau.

“After the success of our Congress in Barcelona, we are so excited to be inviting the nurses of the world to join us in Singapore in 2019 and in Abu Dhabi in 2021,” said Dr Frances Hughes, Chief Executive Officer of ICN. “We look forward to putting together another incredible programme to discuss the issues of utmost concern to nurses no matter where they are in the world. As in Barcelona, we will bring some high-level speakers to share their expertise.”

“We look forward to hosting ICN Congress which is the only event to gather such a big number of nurses from all over the world and give them the unique opportunity to learn from each other and exchange expertise. The Singapore Nurses Association is thrilled to be part of this key event for the profession, and we are honoured to have the opportunity to showcase our state’s excellent healthcare system in the process.” said Professor Lim Swee Hia, President of the Singapore Nurses Association.

“We are delighted that the International Council of Nurses has chosen Abu Dhabi as the next host city for their Congress,” said Dr Fatima, founding member of the Emirates Nursing Association, Adviser of Nursing Affairs to UAE minister of Health and Secretary for UAE Nursing and Midwifery Council, who just joined the ICN Board.

“The hosting of this event aligns with our ambition to support nursing leadership in the region and globally.”
