THE NURSES’ BILL OF RIGHTS: DO YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHTS?

The Nurses’ Bill of Rights can help nurses settle work-related issues with employers. The use of such widely recognized consensus documents adds credibility to nurses who need to discuss difficult situations, such as safety, staffing and workplace violence with administration.

1.Nurses Have the Right to Practice in a Manner That Fulfills Their Obligations to Society and to Those Who Receive Nursing Care.
2. Nurses Have the Right to Practice in Environments that Allow Them to Act in Accordance with Professional Standards and Legally Authorized Scopes of Practice.
3. Nurses Have theRight to a Work Environment That Supports and Facilitates Ethical Practice in Accordance with Code of Ethics For Nurses With Interpretive Statements.
4. Nurses have the Right to Freely and Openly Advocate for Themselves and Their Patients Without Fear of Retribution.
5. Nurses have the Right to Fair Compensation for Their Work Consistent with Their Educational Preparation, Knowledge, Experience and Professional Responsibilities.
6. Nurses Have the Right to a Work Environment that is Safe for Themselves and Their Patients.
7.Nurses in All Practice Settings Have the Right to Negotiate, Either as Individuals or Collectively, the Conditios of their Employment

Germany Triple Win Program 2019: POEA Recruiting 400 Nurses for Germany. See Application

Germany is continuously hiring male and female staff nurses, and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is once again leading the recruitment of qualified applicants for 2019 deployment.

 

POEA announces that they are now accepting applications for nurses under the Triple Win Project of Germany. Triple Win Project is implemented on the basis of an agreement between the German Federal

Employment Agency (BA) and the POEA on the procedure, the selection and the placement of nursing professionals.

 

Qualified applicants must be Filipino citizen, male or female, and permanent resident of the Philippines with Bachelor of Science in Nursing, active Philippine Nursing License and at least two years related professional experience (bedside) in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and/or care institutions.

 

Applicants must have German language proficiency or willing to undergo German language training in the Philippines to attain Level B1 (to be paid by the employer) and must be able to attend the language class in April and May 2019; or with Bl or B2 Language Proficiency Level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

 

Successful candidates shall have a starting monthly salary of €1,900 (gross) that will be increased to € 2,300 after recognition as a qualified nurse.

 

The employer will pay the visa and airfare from the Philippines to Germany and will assist the employee find a suitable accommodation. The selected nurse will bear the expenses in full or in part of the board and lodging.

Updated Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria License Renewal, Verification, Change of Name and Penalty Fees 2019

The renewal fee is N10,500 per year. Every defaulting year, you pay N5200 for each year. It now depends on how long your license has expired.

 

You must present a certificate of attendance of a six credit unit workshop, MCPDP included. These workshop may cost you about N40,000, excluding other logistics like accommodation, transportation and feeding.

 

MCPDP is only three credits unit and any other approved nursing council workshop of three credit units to make it six credit unit before renewal.

Some state Annual Nurse’s Week, scientific conference has also been approved as three credit unit. You can also do Basic life support (BLS) program or ACLS.

 

I understand you can also be renewed using two session of MCPDP to make six credit unit, but it must not be the same module.

How to Authenticate Your Foreign Nursing Degree for NUC and Nursing Council Approval

The Federal Ministry of education is responsible for authenticating foreign degrees for Nursing registration and participation in NYSC scheme.

 

For NMCN registration,you will need to write a letter to FME for your certificate to be recognized. You write a request letter asking them to authenticate your institution in order to be able to process ur licence and you will have to attach a copy of your certificate If your school is on the list of school that the ministry have on it list, your certificate will be endorsed immediately and a certification letter will be given to you.

 

If your school is not on the list, the ministry will write to the ministry of education in d country where you graduated from to confirm the accreditation status of the said institution.

 

The letter should be addressed to the honorable minister of education and you will have to submit it by hand.
